MR. Jagmohan Kumar

After nearly seven decades of offering highly trusted quality food products, we look back at a proud heritage.

The foundation of the business was laid in the year 1942, by late Mr.Jugal Kishore Ji, father of Mr. Jagmohan Kumar in Lahore, where the main products included gram, pulses and gram flour.

After partition, the business shifted its base to Shardhanand market in Delhi. Mr. Jagmohan Kumar the youngest son of Jugal Kishore entered into the business in the year 1972.

Having analyzed the market, he planned to introduce wheat flour in the market by setting a new wheat flour plant by the name of Jugal Kishore Harbans Lal in Lawrence road , New Delhi .

The brand Hathi was registered in the year 1960 . Over the years, the brand has achieved tremendous success and has earned a strong reputation for quality.

Subsequently, another plant was set up in the year 1990 in Narela, Delhi.

New consumer packings were introduced in the year 1994 and the brand became ISO certified . The wheat flour was made available in different packing sizes of 1Kg, 2 Kg., 5 Kg., 10 Kg., 30 Kg., 50 Kg.

In order to cater to the rising demand, setting up of a new plant was planned. The business decided to leverage its strong brand equity to diversify into different products and with the new plant becoming operational in the year 2010, the business introduced wide ranging processed food products including Atta , Maida , Dalia , Suji , Besan etc.

Paras Kumar, son of Mr.Jagmohan Kumar, entered into business in the year 2011 and analyzed the market opportunities and competitive factors. He studied the overseas market and saw huge opportunity for processed food products and forayed into exports in the year 2015.

Another plant of Dal and Besan is being set up in Delhi. Over the years the "Hathi brand" has become a well known brand having a pan India presence .
